Alpaca wool blend.
What is that?!
I’ve never heard of this blend until I bought this gorgeous sweater. Cashmere, polyester wool, cotton…yes.
But what the hell is Alpaca fibers? And why is it so soft, warm and luxe?
An Alpaca is a South American camelid and resembles a Llama. They are bred specifically for their fiber. The thicker, softer and luxurious fleece is gaining more popularity. And I can see why.
Alpaca wool yarn is a more expensive than that most other types of yarn.
I can see and feel the craftsmanship of this piece because carries a good lightweight feel and beautifully woven. Don’t let the images fool you. This sweater is super light.
Soooo move over itchy wool!
Plus, Alpaca blend is hypoallergenic. When means unlike sheep’s wool, Alpaca fiber contains no lanolin. Lanolin is the natural grease that sheep produce to keep their fleece waterproof. Which, unfortunately, can to some people give an allergic reaction.
Are you convinced yet that you need to try Alpaca blend?
Next time you’re in H&M (or anywhere) and just stop and feel how gorgeous this blend is. The options at H&M are worth the money to spend for nice cozy sweaters than won’t have you sacrifice feeling itchy.
